Telekom Sustainability Initiative

According to current estimates, there are over 120 million “drawer phones” in German households. For many years, Telekom has been committed to putting valuable raw materials from them back into the cycle and, therefore, protecting the environment. Safe and sustainable processes have been developed for the collection and professional recycling of cell phones and tablets.

We have developed a Multitouch application which uses object recognition to make the topic of raw materials and resources exciting and “understandable”. As soon as the user places the objects (real rock samples!) on the monitor surface, information is presented about the corresponding raw materials. The fun application and the mixture of haptic and digital experiences, significantly increases interest in the topic.
